Our clients’ residence in Davie, Florida suffered a roof leak as a result of a non-named summer storm with approximately 40 mile per hour winds. Broken and shifted tiles on their roof allowed rainwater to enter the home and cause water damage to their office and master bedroom and bathroom. They reported their claim to their insurance company but the claim was denied without payment based on the insurer’s determination of no wind damage to the roof and that the leaks were due to long-term deficiencies with the roofing system, despite the clients having never suffered a prior roof leak. Our firm was hired at that stage and we initiated litigation against the insurer. After a hard fought legal battle, we were able to recover $129,000.00 for our clients, allowing them to replace their roof and perform repairs to the interior of their home.
